Access to the beach at American Lake Park is open in time for the three-day holiday weekend. The upper section of the park remains closed while the final work is completed on park improvements. We hope to celebrate a full opening of the park later this summer.
Beach visitors can access the beach using a pedestrian walkway along the retaining wall. Hug the wall from the upper parking lot downhill to the gate that is open to the beach.
A few reminders to help make sure everyone has a good experience in the park:
- The boat launch parking lot is for boat trailer parking only.
- The upper and overflow lots are open.
- If parking lots are full, there is available street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
- Cars parked in no-parking zones, in front of driveways, mailboxes or otherwise blocking the roadway will be towed.
- Fireworks are not permitted in city parks.
- Alcohol is not permitted in city parks.
We expect this to be a busy weekend in our parks. Please help us keep it clean and help ensure those who come after you also have a great experience by removing any garbage and packing out what you bring in. Our parks maintenance team will be visiting all our parks this weekend, but with the anticipated high volume of visitors, we need your help to keep it clean.
