City of Lakewood’s 30th Anniversary Celebration
For 30 years, Lakewood has been a community built on pride, diversity, resilience, and heart. This year, we’re coming together to celebrate three decades of growth, connection, and unforgettable memories. Lakewood’s 30th Anniversary celebration will take place over multiple events this year.
Fiesta de la Familia – Sept. 26, 2026
Enjoy food, live entertainment, an art show, and hands on crafts. See roaming entertainers. Kids will enjoy balloon making, face painting and more.
Truck and Tractor Day – Oct. 17, 2026
Enjoy pumpkin decorating, crafts, games, and a giant slingshot for pumpkin chucking! Children can climb on dozens of giant trucks and tractors and sit in the driver’s seat & honk the horn. Children also receive free hayrides, hard hats, and pumpkins.
Holiday Parade of Lights – Dec. 5, 2026
Celebrate the holiday season with a Christmas Parade of Lights at the Lakewood Towne Center. Visitors get to view holiday floats constructed by local businesses, clubs, and organizations. This event is completely free.

Lakewood Police Fallen Officers Food Drive – Date TBD
Drop off non-perishable food items, monetary donations or sign up to donate blood for this annual event held by the Lakewood Police Department to benefit Emergency Food Network and Bloodworks NW. A date will be announced later this year.

Jingle Bell Run – Date TBD
In partnership with the Lakes Cross Country Booster Club, the City of Lakewood is hosting a Jingle Bell Fun Run at Fort Steilacoom Park. This 5k walk/run and 1-mile kids fun run is great for families. Wear your best holiday-themed costume, bring your dog (on a leash), grab the stroller and head to Fort Steilacoom Park for holiday cheer.
The 1-mile run begins at 9:30 a.m. The 5k walk/run begins at 10 a.m. This is a chip timed run.
- Pre-registration cost: $10 for 12 and under; $30 everyone else.
- Race day cost: $15 for 12 and under; $35 everyone else.
MLK Celebration – Jan. 15, 2026
Every year, the city of Lakewood remembers the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to advocate for justice and equality.
Youth Summit – April 18, 2026
Join the Lakewood Youth Council for its annual Youth Summit. Join us for fun, engage with other students and leave motivated to make positive contributions in your community.
Parks Appreciation Day – April 25, 2026
Every year, Lakewood staff and community volunteers team up to clean our parks. This includes picking up trash, pulling weeds, and light landscaping to preserve the parks. Join us at the next Parks Appreciation Day to help make a difference!

4th Annual Juneteenth Commemoration – June 20, 2026
Join us for the 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Lakewood City Hall, hosted by the St. Joseph–St. John Ministry of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. The celebration will be filled with singing, dancing, live music, poetry, and history. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy an uplifting day of culture, community, and remembrance.

Lakewood families and visitors love our markets, concerts, and festivals. Our unique vendors help make these events special. Fresh produce, food truck treats, refreshing beverages, interesting crafts, unique gifts – our events have it all. We invite new vendors to participate.
