The City of Lakewood operates and maintains its social media sites as a public service to provide information about city programs, services, projects, issues, events, and activities. Although we encourage posts and comments on City of Lakewood social media sites that allow posts, these sites are limited public forums and are moderated by city staff. Content which is prohibited on all official city social media accounts includes the following, as determined by the Communications Manager:
- Is vulgar, obscene, offensive, threatening or harassing.
- Is potentially defamatory, libelous or includes false claims.
- Promotes or advertises commercial services, entities or products.
- Supports or opposes political candidates or ballot propositions.
- Is determined to be in violation of federal, state or local laws.
- Includes sexual content or links to sexual content.
- Discusses or encourages illegal activity.
- Promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation.
- Provides information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of individuals, the public or public systems.
- Violates the terms of use and privacy policy set by the site service provider.

Inside the latest edition readers will find:
- A Council Corner article from the Lakewood City Council highlighting its key accomplishments in 2024 and its plans for 2025.

Email Newsletters
The city uses email to share information with residents who sign up to receive notifications. Each week the City Manager’s Weekly Bulletin is emailed to subscribers. This e-bulletin includes updates on Lakewood news, events, road work, park projects and more. The Lakewood City Council agenda packet is also emailed weekly. It includes a link to the city’s website where the agenda is posted for residents to see what the City Council will discuss at upcoming meetings. The city also publishes and emails Requests for Proposals/Requests for Qualifications (RFP/RFQ), Public Notices and other notifications through its email notification list.
