Free & Discounted Youth Recreational Activities Available

Camps and activities include volleyball, LEGO, augmented reality, robotics, and more.

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – A variety of free or deeply discounted youth recreational activities are available in Lakewood.

The Pierce County Kids Need Play! (KNP!) program offers substantial discounts on day camps and sports activities. Local camps with KNP! discounts include Brickz 4 Kids LEGO camps, USA Volleyball, and more.

Pierce County Trails Day will be held on Saturday, July 31. The event will introduce kids to Agents of Discovery, a fun augmented-reality app that involves solving challenges and exploring Lakewood Parks.

The City also brings fun & games to local parks through the Mobile Recreation Program. A big red van loaded with games and activities visits Springbrook Park on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Harry Todd Park on Tuesdays.

“Kids have a great time at these events. Some of our programs are educational, and some are just for kids to run and play and let some energy out. Either way, we’re here for these kids and we just hope to invite more and more Lakewood families to join us.”
