The City of Lakewood’s Long-Range Planning Manager is Tiffany Speir. Among her many duties, she marshalls the City’s strategy to end street homelessness.
The City is working on a number of tactics to fight homelessness, and the expansion of shelter space to meet increasing demand is a top priority. The Comfort Inn at 86th & Hosmer in Tacoma was recently purchased by Lakewood, Tacoma, and Pierce County to offer shelter to up to 120 people in need at a time.
Residents had a lot of questions about the purchase – Tiffany takes the time to respond to many of them in this brief interview.
