Human Services Grants

The City designates 1 percent of its general fund to support human services in the Lakewood community. It does this through its biennial Human Services Grant cycle. Area social, health, and human services organizations are encouraged to apply to the City for funding.

About Human Services Grants

Applications are reviewed by the City’s Community Services Advisory Board in a competitive process. This all-volunteer board makes its funding recommendation to the City Council, which ultimately approves the grant allocations.

Applicants can be public schools, government programs, or a non-profit agency with a 501(c) 3 IRS tax-exempt status and currently registered with the state Secretary of State Charities Division.
