About Wards Lake Park

Wards Lake Park is a beautiful natural space in Lakewood that offers opportunities for recreation, wildlife viewing, and enjoying the outdoors. The park surrounds Wards Lake, one of Lakewood’s five lakes. This manmade lake is fed by local surface water and supports a diverse range of plant and animal species, making it an important habitat for local wildlife. Just west of the lake, visitors can explore a grove of historic Garry Oak trees—one of the region’s distinctive native landscapes.
