Join the Lakewood Youth Council for its annual Youth Empowerment Summit. This event brings youth together for a fun afternoon and opportunity to engage with other students and leave motivated to make positive contributions in the community.

Attend this free event and choose Your Own Adventure.  Use your passport to attend 8–12-minute skills drop-in sessions on preparing environmentally conscious meals, relieving stress, setting boundaries and self-advocacy, understanding credit and setting a budget, college, high school and job prep, digital life management, decision making, time management, basic childcare, public speaking and more.  Students will also have access to a dynamic keynote speaker, coffee truck, Kona Ice, video gaming tables photo booth, Radnor’s smash burgers and chicken sandwiches, and door prizes!

The Youth Summit is hosted by the Youth Council. The Youth Council is composed of students with an interest in leadership. The council reports to the Lakewood City Council about issues affecting local youth. Members take part in many committees and study groups. The Youth Council organizes the summit each year for Lakewood youth in grades seven to 12 to get involved.
