About the Wildlife Area
The South Puget Sound Wildlife Area is a 100-acre space with hiking and bike trails. On top of the trails, this area offers many great features, including:
- A Native plant garden to learn more about Lakewood’s indigenous plants
- Picnic space with a view of Lakewood’s prairie habitat
- 1/2 Mile of ADA paved trail to a scenic view of Mt. Rainier
- Bird watching in a number of different habitats
- A Fish Hatchery that is open to the public during weekdays
Special Rules:
- Open every day during daylight hours
- Bikes, skateboards, scooters and other non-motorized vehicles allowed on paved trail
- Dogs must be kept on-leash
