Wellness Programs
Registration is now open for all classes and sessions. Please use the registration link to find the right class and time for your schedule. All classes are held in the Pavilion at Fort Steilacoom Park, 9107 Angle Lane SW. Parking is available behind the building or along the fence near the city park maintenance shop.
Yoga and Meditation
We offer a variety of Yoga classes.
Gentle Yoga
$12 drop-ins available, (cash or card)
Gentle yoga slows down the asana (position) flows of vinyasa and gives each person a chance to feel out vinyasa poses with a variation that caters to the needs of beginners, injuries and those who like a calmer practice. The room will be at 80 degrees.
Mondays 4:45-5:45 p.m.

Thursdays 4:45 – 5:45 p.m.
- Session 9b Dates: Nov. 7-21
Classes are not interchangeable; if you miss a session, you cannot make it up on a different day of the week. (I.e. if you miss Monday, you cannot attend the Thursday class as a make-up.)
Vinyasa Yoga
$12 drop-ins available (cash or card)
Vinyasa is a modern style of yoga that connects body to breath in a moving meditation. It combines a series of asanas (physical positions) that target mindfulness through flow, balance, twists and inversions. This is an all-levels class that can be individualized to each person. The room will be at 80 degrees,.

Yin/Yang Yoga
$12 drop-ins available (cash or card)
Yin Yang is a style of yoga that heats up the body for the first half of class through a series of flows and then cools the body down with restorative deep stretching. It is a well-balanced class of sun and moon energy that is a great way to reset stress hormones and release endorphins. The room will be at 75 degrees.

Sound Healing Bath
$30
Join Patrea as she leads you through 60 minutes of sound healing and yin postures. Bring comfortable clothing and an openness to release and receive.

Cardio and Exercise
Tai Chi
$113 for eight-week class (no drop-ins available)
This class teaches participants ways to improve their overall mind, body and spirit through a series of slow continuous movements. With over 30+ year experience, instructor Ronny Llanos will teach an Abbreviated Yang Style form easy to learn for the beginner. You will walk away with tools to help stress reduction, cardiovascular functions, balance and posture, arthritic conditions, lowering high blood pressure and more. Students will have a deeper understanding of flow and coordination of breath and movement while following the ancient Classics of Tai chi Chuan. Beginner and Intermediate classes available.

Qigong
$113 for eight-week course (no drop-ins available)
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the gentle practice of Qigong allows us to consciously activate the body’s natural healing ability and direct vital energy (Chi) to the places in need of restoration and repair. Classes include warm-ups, deep breathing exercises, Meridian Tapping (Pai Da), Emei Mountain Qigong and the 12 Meridian Mawangdui Qigong.
By the end of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of self-healing, gain an understanding of Qigong and be ready to confidently take your first steps toward a longer, healthier and happier life. There is no treatment or drug that can match the body’s own astonishing capability to heal itself.

Cardio Drumming
$60 for six-week course (no drop-ins available)
Cardio drumming is a dynamic cardiovascular workout that combines drumming on an exercise ball, movement and music. It’s not only a full body workout, but it will make you smile, sweat, and feel amazing. Class includes warm-up, cardio drumming for 40 minutes, cool-down with stretching, and a short grounding practice to complete the hour. All equipment is provided and all levels welcome. Drop-in available for $12.

Men’s Coffee Hour
Join a group of our finest Lakewood residents for conversation and coffee at our Men’s Coffee Hour on Tuesdays from 10 – 11 a.m.
Coffee and Conversation
This coffee and conversation hour is open to any Lakewood Seniors that just want to warm up with a cup of coffee or cocoa with friends.
Just a Walk in the Park
Join us for fellowship and fitness! It’s always a good time to get outdoors, so join us on our weekly walks in the park. We walk rain or shine (except in snow ice or high winds). Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in. Meet near the Ft. Steilacoom dog park. Please leave your dogs at home. Mondays at 10:30 a.m.
Knotty Knitters
Grab your yarn and let’s get together to knit and crochet with your friends! Grab your projects and join us! Invite your friends! Whether you knit or crochet, everyone is welcome. Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.
Brain Games
Help keep your brain engaged and challenged! Research shows that keeping your brain active can help reduce age-related cognitive disorders. Dirty Gloves Garden Club
Join a group of passionate gardeners who share the common love of growing flowers, vegetables and shrubs. Unite to learn about plants, growing techniques, occasional guest speakers, trade tips and tricks, swap stories and meet new friends! This group is for beginners to more experience gardeners.

Agents of Discovery
Explore Lakewood Parks in a whole new way! Join Agents of Discovery, the secret agency dedicated to learning and playing outdoors. Walk the parks to solve challenges and learn more about the plants, animals, and history of Lakewood.
Agents of Discovery is an augmented reality app for kids. Players attempt challenges and learn about the wildlife and history of Lakewood.
Players complete a set of challenges that are created from the following options. The mission is to complete all of the challenges. Once you complete the mission, contact Cameron Fairfield ([email protected]) to claim your prize!
